I have used the homeopathic system of medicine for my dogs for many years now.  My first experience was with my little Cross Cocker Spaniel girl when she developed metritis after giving birth to a litter of pups without any problems at all. Her symptoms of bearing down and discharging blood corresponded perfectly to the remedy Sepia. She started drinking and eating (= recovering; an animal will not eat or drink when poorly) virtually moments after her first dose of Sepia 30.

 

I kept one of the puppies from that litter and used homeopathy exclusively as his health care system. He was not vaccinated but received Homeopathic Nosodes instead. He lived a healthy life and even in his old age (14) he never developed any lumps, bumps, warts or growths (vaccinosis) that dogs nowadays seem to develope even early on in life.

His only spell of 'ill-health' was diarrhoea after consuming some tuna fish which must have been 'off'. This was quickly rectified by a few doses of Arsen alb 30. Arsen alb is a remedy indicated for food poisoning especially when meat is suspected to be the culprit. 

 

Ragamuffinn came to us in April 2006 at the age of 7 weeks. He is not vaccinated but received Homeopathic Nosodes. During his rapid growth period he occasionally limped - a combination remedy of Arnica/Ruta/Rhus tox/Hypericum 200 was administered and the problem quickly resolved every time and x-rays were not neccessary.

Arnica has an affinity for muscle damage, Ruta for ligament damage, Rhus tox for joint involvement, and Hypericum for nerve damage - every possibilty is covered with this combination remedy.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nelly came to us in November 2008. When she was old enough to come for walks with us we realised that she was car sick. Petroleum 30 given shortly before each journey helped her beautifully and after a few weeks she 'grew out' of the problem altogether. Nelly has not had any vaccinations either and is a lovely healthy dog.

 

Incidentally both dogs are fed a Biologically Appropriate Raw Diet [BARF] and are not wormed chemically as part of their NR (Naturally Reared) upbringing.
